ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KTVI) – The Mehlville School Board has started the process to search for a new superintendent of the school district. Current superintendent Dr. Eric Knost is stepping down to take the superintendent’s job for the Rockwood School District.

As the search is just getting underway, the district has decided to hire an interim superintendent; candidate from the district and outside the district will be considered for the position, with a target date of hiring someone by May 22, 2014.

The board will take up the search for a permanent superintendent in the fall of 2014, with the hope of hiring superintendent by the end of December 2014.
