Two injured near Wash University campus by hit and run driver

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Two people were struck in a hit and run that involved an SUV and a Metro bus.

It happened on the Washington University campus and officials say the students were taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital.

It happened near Forsyth on Hoyt around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. An SUV hit the students and at some point it slammed into a Metro bus, according to Washington University Police.

The driver and one passenger were on board bus. Neither were hurt.

According to police, after that, the SUV left the scene, but the vehicle and the suspect were taken into custody a short distance away on Westmoreland.

The students were returning to campus from a sorority event, according to police.

As of 6:30 a.m., the conditions of the victims had not been released.
