ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis hosted its annual "Dinner With The Stars" Saturday night at the Peabody Opera House. Singer, actor, and American Idol judge Harry Connick, Jr., was the  headline entertainer for the gala event.

For more than 80 years, Variety has helped thousands of St. Louis children with physical and mental disabilities by providing medical equipment, educational programs, and therapeutic and recreational programs.

So in 3 record-breaking years in Kiel Opera House, Variety has raised more than $5 million and none of the tux-ed and gowned lifted a finger to help save the opera house when it was under severe attack. Hypocrites.
