HARDIN, IL (KTVI) – The Calhoun County, Illinois teacher accused of making a terrorist threat is due in federal court Monday.

Michelle Smith of Jerseyville faces a federal detention hearing.  Police say she left a note last week indicating there was a bomb at Hardin High School.

The letter said, “this school is going down today… Kaboom! I’m tired of all the people here. Everyone is going down… The school will be in flames.”

The school was evacuated but the bomb squad found nothing.  Smith has been a special education teacher in the district since 2001.
