Mass casualty exercise held on Chesterfield Mall parking lot

CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) – Sunday the Monarch Fire Protection District and Chesterfield Mall are play host to 9 emergency management services, fire departments, 17 area hospitals, the Chesterfield Police Department, St. Louis County Police, Department of Homeland Security and 200 high school students for a mass casualty exercise. The exercise will start at 6 pm on the Chesterfield Mall parking lot and will last till 10 pm.

This exercise will be the first of its kind since a 1998 mass casualty exercise.

The purpose of the event is to assess the capabilities, plans, policies and procedures on decision making, agency coordination and communication during an active shooter scenario.
