Warning on mulch sold in local Illinois stores

O’Fallon, IL (KTVI) – State Agriculture officials in Illinois warned consumers today of some bagged mulch sold at two local stores.  The products were packaged and distributed by Ohio Mulch.  Inspectors discovered the bags contained less mulch than advertised on the product.  The bags in question were filled with mulch at the company’s Homerville Georgia and Columbus Ohio plants.

According to investigators, the questionable products were sold at the Menards in O’Fallon Illinois and the Rural King in Waterloo.

Ohio Mulch will offer refunds on the bags purchased by consumers.  In order to obtain a refund you must follow the procedures below.  Also below is a list of the products in question.

To obtain a refund:

Customers need to mail proof of purchase of these products to:  Ohio Mulch, P.O. Box 650, Blacklick, OH, 43004.  Questions about the refunds should be directed to the company at (614) 592-2793.
