(KTVI) - Why are food allergies on the rise? Or are we just better at diagnosing them? The fact is, they exist and some kids in the St. Louis area cannot afford the expensive medicine.
So Joe Krieger of the Asthma & Allergy Foundation tells how we can help by eating out.

Kicking off May 19, a specially designed allergy-free menu will be offered at Modesto Tapas Bar & Restaurant, with a portion of menu sales benefiting the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis Chapter (AAFA).

The promotion, which will conclude on May 24, will help to increase awareness of food allergies and provide alternative options to individuals and families living with this serious medical condition. Executive Chef Carlos Hernandez created the menu to include a variety of peanut, gluten and dairy-free options, while still highlighting traditional Spanish flavors.
