NASCAR returning to Gateway Motorsports Park

MADISON, IL (KTVI)-- NASCAR is returning to Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois.

For the first time since 2010, NASCAR will be back at Gateway and it will take place on Father’s Day weekend.

The race will be the inaugural "Drivin for Linemen 200." The event is to bring awareness to the utility linemen of America and the electrical industry. The linemen are among the first responders during natural disasters. Ameren linemen were at Gateway Wednesday to meet with NASCAR driver TJ Bell who went to linemen school so he could better understand the risks they face in their everyday jobs.

The NASCAR "Drivin for Linemen 200" will be June 14th at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois.   The race will be under the lights in prime time on Fox Sports. Ameren linemen say they will be there to make sure the lights stay on.
