GRANITE CITY, IL (KTVI)-- Hundreds were on hand for a candlelight vigil to remember Travis Mayes days after he was shot on his motorcycle while on his way home from work.

Travis was a biker and he loved riding with all his friends.

Family and friends gather at the site just outside Granite City at Nameoki Road near Harrison Ave to remember a man who touched so many.

So much so, people packed Nick`s Bar for 12 hours Wednesday for a taco fundraiser to help raise $5,377 so that Travis could have a funeral.

Nick`s Bar ran out of food by noon and had to keep restocking so they could keep the fundraiser going.

A community coming together to remember a man who made so many people smile.

The 22-year-old who's accused of killing Travis is charged with three counts of 1st degree murder.
