The wait is finally over! Cardinals top prospect Oscar Taveras is on his way to St. Louis. The Cards recalled Taveras late Friday night from Class AAA Memphis.

Matt Adams will go on the disabled list with a calf injury, creating a spot for Taveras to come to the Cardinals.

Taveras, an outfielder, was hitting .325 with seven home runs and 40 RBI.

He will wear number 18 with the Cardinals and will make his Major League debut vs. the Giants. Game time at Busch Stadium is 1:15 PM.
