(KTVI)- In 2013, Gail Tisius created a special blanket for a co-worker, Charly Ransom, who ultimately lost her battle with colon cancer. Co-workers of Ransom wrote messages of hope and encouragement on the blanket and gave it to her in the hospital. Tisius’ thought that the same kind of blanket would also benefit children in long-term medical care. She started Charly’s Blanket, which works with St. Louis Shriner's Hospital to get those blankets to the kids that need them.

A special fundraiser for Charly’s Blanket will be held on Saturday, June 1 at Memorial Park in Brentwood, MO from 1:00-6:00pm. Called Wash, Toss, & Run, it is a Washers Tournament, Potty Toss, and Egg Run. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and Wine Pull. Hotdogs, brats, chips, and drinks will be available for purchase, so come hungry.
