New technology developed for shatterproof smartphones

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Are you a klutz who keeps dropping your smartphone?  Well help is on the way.  New technology is being developed to make smartphones shatterproof.  Researchers have developed a transparent surface made of electrodes that can withstand repeated bending.

Scientists believe it could eventually replace conventional touchscreens which currently use a brittle coating that can shatter.
