ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Call it the tale of two Billy`s.

While Billy Elliot cast members rehearse Thursday afternoon at the Muny, one young man is watching and waiting for his chance.

"Well I`m the stand by Billy just in case anything happens to Tade, the main Billy right now," says actor Myles Erlick.

The main Billy is Tade Biesinger, but this Billy has to be ready in case anything happens come show time Monday night.

"Could be in the middle of the first act or the beginning of the second act," says Erlick.

Or not at all, but this budding Billy has already seen some big time chances come his way.

"Here you are a Broadway star and people in New York know who you are but you have your You Tube channel that Ellen Degeneres finds and then you're international," says Muny publicity manager Larry Pry.

All thanks to a You Tube video he made with his best friend.

"We thought we'd do "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz and we just did it and the next thing we knew Ellen called us and she wanted us to be on the show," says Erlick.

Not only did he get the opportunity to perform, he brought home a brand new guitar to boot.

"She got me a brand new Gibson guitar," says Erlick.  "I couldn't believe she gave me that."

Which just goes to show, whether you get on the main stage at the Muny or not, it's always good to be ready when opportunity comes knocking.

Good something is a ‘sensation’ in the Park. a 7 weeks MUNY is a disgrace. Greatest outdoor theater in America squeezed to less than 50 nights. All other outdoor theaters opened in May or first week in June. Please don’t ask what happened to St. Louis.
