Shakespeare Festival St. Louis executive director moving on

(KTVI)- It’s the final curtain call for the executive director of Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Rick Dildine is leaving to join Shakespeare & Company of Lenox, Massachusetts as Executive Director and President. He will oversee an operation with three performance venues and an annual budget of $5 million. He begins the new job in September.

Located in The Berkshires of Massachusetts, Shakespeare & Company is one of the largest Shakespeare Festivals in the country.

Dildine started with Shakespeare Festival St. Louis in 2009. During his tenure, the Festival has more than increased attendance more than 30 percent and garnered national attention. Dildine directed the 2013 production of Twelfth Night and created the highly successful SHAKE38 and “Shakespeare in the Streets” programs.

A national search will be conducted for a replacement for Dildine in St. Louis.

Sunday is the final performance of the 2014 festival in Forest Park. “Henry V” starts at 8:00pm.
