Visitation held for Army Specialist killed in Afghanistan

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Visitation for 20-year-old Army Specialist Matthew Walker took place Sunday at Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County. Walker was killed on June 5th when his unit was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade near the Afghanistan/Pakistan border.

Walker was from Cedar Hill and graduated from Grandview High School in Jefferson County.

His body was returned Saturday to Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.

Walker’s funeral will be held at Manchester United Methodist Church Monday morning at 11 am.

Governor Jay Nixon has ordered flags to half-staff on Monday in honor of Specialist Walker.
