Historic grocery store goes up in flames

BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Belleville lost one of its grocery stores Monday evening, when fire broke out at the Main Street Market in the 8100 block of West Main Street.

Five fire departments were called to the two alarm blaze that started around 6  pm.

The store dates back to the 1930's and was undergoing some electrical work, when the fire started in the back of the store.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported.
