USA Wins World Cup Opener, 2-1 over Ghana

John Brooks goal in the 86th minute broke a 1-1 tie and gave team USA a 2-1 victory over Ghana in their 2014 World Cup opening game. The U.S. had taken a 1-0 lead just 32 seconds into the contest on Clint Dempsey’s goal. Ghana got the equalizier goal in the 83rd minute when Andre Ayew scored to tie the game. The first round victory is just the second for USA since 1930!
