WEBSTER GROVES, MO (KTVI)-- It’s a fight to preserve history. A Webster Groves neighborhood is up in arms to save a home from demolition.

It was built in the 1800 by an Italian family.

And even though the deal is expected to close in September, some neighbors are holding out hope that someone will want to buy the house and preserve its heritage.

A home with this much history is hard to say good bye to. These are feelings that many neighbors have but just don`t voice, because they don`t have the opportunity.

Mark Williams lives next door to 705 Greeley in the Tuxedo Park Neighborhood and he`s not happy that the developer is planning to build two separate homes on the acre lot next to his.

Now the house faces the street like the rest of the houses. The developer is having both the homes on the lot face Greely and wouldn`t look as in line with the rest of the neighborhood.
