A.J. Burnett pitched a complete game to led the Phillies to a 5-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday night at Busch Stadium. It marked the Cardinals third straight defeat. Burnett allowed just the one run on seven hits to stymie that Cards. Matt Holliday drove in the Cardinals only run with a third inning single. Jaime Garcia pitched four shutout innings, but gave up two runs in the fifth inning to start his downfall and give him his first loss of the 2014 season. Garcia pitched into the sixth inning, but gace up four of the Phillies five runs.

Adam Wainwright returns to the mound on Saturday afternoon to face these same Phillies and hopefully end the Cardinals losing streak.
