Cyclist killed by hit and run driver identified
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Police have now identified a cyclist killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in north St. Louis. Charles Beard, 54, of Clayton, was riding a bike around 8:45 Friday night at the intersection of North Sarah Street and Cook Avenue in the Vandeventer neighborhood when a car hit him sending his bike airborne. He died at the scene.
The driver sped away.
Police recovered a black and maroon 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix they believe was used in the incident. The car was found on Kennsington Place in the Lewis Place neighborhood. They’re still looking for the driver.
