MASCOUTAH, Ill. (AP) _ An Air Force base in southwestern Illinois soon will be home to two new cyber-security squadrons that will mean 320 new jobs and a $16 million investment in the site.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Bill Enyart of Belleville says he was told by Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Kathleen Ferguson that Scott Air Force Base near Mascoutah and another in Texas won the competition and were among seven finalists.

The cyber-protection mission is meant to operate and defend Defense Department information networks.

Enyart says the new jobs at Scott will be created within about two years.

Mascoutah is about 25 miles east of St. Louis.

    Wow, this is FANTASTIC news!

But wait, isn’t “big government spending” a bad thing, according to Republicans and especially their radical Tea Party division? NO WAY when it’s wasteful MILITARY spending!

Apparently, the only “bad” government spending is when they spend it on the people! Services, health care, welfare – those are “evil” bad things that do nothing to spur the economy or add jobs, right oh wise right-wing sheep?

But billions in spending for useless and wasteful military that we seldom use or need is WONDERFUL! Look at these jobs! 320 more military jobs for people with no detectable talents or skills! At least this does help a bit to provide a way for those less fortunate (in the brains category) to make a decent living! Maybe they’ll even add some civilian jobs someday so ordinary, SKILLED workers may actually get some of the action – maybe.

I wonder how many of these 320 military cyber-crime “experts” it will take to change a lightbulb? LOL

If we run low on money, the Tea Party can just slash some health care funding that was going to add 3,000 jobs that actually help people, to pay for these 320 worthless military jobs! A win-win if ever I’ve seen one!

I’m sure it’s money well spent! Thanks, Mr. Enyart – I guess even Democrats can’t resist the temptation of the almighty military buck. Well, it is an easy buck, with no accountability, right?
