The Cardinals have evened their weekend series with the Dodgers winning 3-1 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium. Seth Maness pitched two and a third scoreless innings to get the win in relief. Carlos Martinez started the game on the mound for the Redbirds, allowing just one run in four and a third innings pitched. But Martinez threw 82 pitches in those four plus innings. Trevor Rosenthal pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning to pick up his 24th save of the season.

Hitting wise for the Cardinals, Yadier Molina tied the game at 1-1 with his seventh home run of the season. Jhonny Peralta provided the winning hit in the fifth inning. His two run double gave the Cards the 3-1 lead they never relinquished.
