ST. CLAIR COUNTY, IL (KTVI)- Early Saturday morning, the SWAT team surrounded the home of a so-called "person of interest" in a Fairview Heights armed robbery that occurred Friday.

The standoff was at a Belleville apartment complex on Pheasantwood Court and lasted for eight hours. Police could be heard calling for Darius Thompson, but the person of interest would not exit the apartment.

The suspect was finally arrested without incident, after police knocked down the door, sending in a robot and finally officers into to arrest the suspect.

Police say that on Friday, Fairview Heights police responded to an armed robbery at a TitleMax store in the 10000 block of Lincoln Trail. Police believe Thompson was the gunman in that robbery.
