(KTVI) – The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for communities along the Mississippi River.  This warning is due to heavy rains in the upper Midwest over the last several days.  The latest projections put the river at five to eight feet over flood stage, depending on the location.

The river is expected to continue rising through the weekend and crest early next week.  Those living or celebrating the holiday along the river are advised to use extreme caution.  They’re also asked to listen to updates on river conditions and levels.
