Three drownings on Missouri waterways Friday

(KTVI)-Two people drowned Missouri lakes on Friday. The first was at Table Rock Lake. Missouri Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Joshua Washington of Republic, Missouri, was helping others in the water when he went under and did not surface. The incident happened around 10:20am. Washington’s body was recovered.

Hours later, a 30-year-old man from Englewood, Colorado fell off the back of a boat at the Lake of the Ozarks. The victim, Justin Byrd, was underwater for five minutes before friends noticed he was missing. His body was also recovered.

An 81-year old also died Friday when he tried to wade across the Castor River in Wayne County. He lost his balance and fell. He was pronounced dead by drowning.
