Delays in VA care focus of American Legion town hall meeting

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – On Monday, the American Legion will be holding a town hall meeting and operating a crisis center for local veterans and family members. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum. The meeting is open to the public.

The purpose of the crisis center is to aid local veterans and their family members who have been affected by delays in receiving health care at the VA St. Louis Health Care System.

The American Legion’s Veterans Crisis Command Center is July 15-18 at the St. Louis University School of Law Clinic. Services provided will include assistance in filing for VA appointment scheduling, grief counseling, benefits claims, and help with enrollment in VA health care.

Crisis Center hours of operation:

  • July 15: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • July 16: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • July 17: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • July 18: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m
