The Cardinals made it official on Tuesday, announcing the often injured pitcher Jaime Garcia will undergo season ending surgery on Friday. Dr. Robert Thompson will perform thoracic outlet surgery on Garcia on Friday in St. Louis. It will be Garcia’s second major operation in the past 14 months. He had shoulder surgery last May. Garcia started just seven games for the Cardinals before suffering yet another season ending injury. Recovery time post surgery for Garcia is expected to be three to four months.
