WELLSTON, MO (KTVI) – A new multimillion dollar child care center opened Monday to the sounds of children after a ribbon cutting for the early Explorers Child Development Academy on Robert Powell Place. The five point million dollar facility will help educate 120 kids between six weeks and six years old.

Organizers say the center will focus on helping educate young kids and helping parents as well.

The center`s construction was funded by federal, state and local dollars.

It will open as soon as it gets accredited.

Organizers say the academy will be the only licensed and accredited early childhood education center in Wellston.
