Police identify body found in Mississippi as missing St. Peters man

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The body found in the Mississippi on Saturday has been identified as missing St. Peters man, David Brangenberg. The 47-year-old’s vehicle was located in Bridgeton at the end of Missouri Bottom Road and was towed as an abandoned vehicle Saturday night.

Captain Gregg Favre of the St. Louis Fire Department said firefighters were training with a new vessel in the river on Saturday when they got the word a body had been discovered near the Eads Bridge.

Brangenberg’s family last spoke with him on July 5th and have attempted to contact him several times in the last couple of weeks. They reported him missing on July 19th.

An investigation to determine cause of death continues. No foul play is suspected at this time.
