ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The St. Louis Zoo is one of the jewels of this city, and without the hard work and dedication of over 100 zookeepers, it would not be as spectacular.
This week is National Zookeeper Week and Senior Zookeeper Erin Tully stops by to tells us about a typical day in the field.
She also shares how they plan to celebrate all week long.
Thursday, July 24th
9 am – Andean bear enrichment and keeper chat in River's Edge
9:30 am – Activity to be determined
10 am – Lemur enrichment and keeper chat at the Primate House
10:30 am – Red kangaroo enrichment at Red Rocks
11 am – Giant tortoise enrichment and keeper chat outside of the Herpetarium
11:30 am – Chimpanzee enrichment and keeper chat at Fragile Forest
Noon – Keeper chat at Children's Zoo
Keeper chats are also offered every day at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 5 p.m. at various locations throughout the Zoo.
