Soldier from St. Louis found dead in Fort Hood, Texas

kameron womack(KTVI) – A Fort Hood soldier who died of a gunshot wound on Sunday grew up in St. Louis.   Fort Hood Public Affairs says Sgt. Kameron Alexander Womack, 24, died in his o post home in Killeen, Texas.

Womack entered active duty in August 2008 as a combat engineer.   He was deployed to Afghanistan in January 2010 through January 2011 and then again from May 2012 to February 2013.

The Army says Womack has received two Army Commendation Medals, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other awards.

Womack’s Facebook account says he went to Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School.
