(KTVI) - St. Louis police homicide detectives are busy again investigating another murder.  The latest victim is a grandmother caught in the crossfire while walking with her grandchildren.

Police were called to Wednesday night around 7:45 p.m. at Hodiamont and Lotus near the city`s border with Wellston.  Authorities say Juliette Cleveland-Davis, 46, was walking north on Hodiamont with her three grandchildren when two suspects started shooting a group of people.

Davis was shot in the chest.   She was rushed to a hospital but died a short time later. The three grandchildren ages 7, 5, and 4, were not injured.

Authorities say  they don't have any suspects in the case nor do they have a description of any potential suspects.

71 homicides so far this year in our beautiful city. Lets throw 5 million dollar band aid on the arch grounds and close off all the streets going to north st louis.

At 7:45 P.M. you would think there would have been somebody that could give some type of description of something. It sounds almost impossible that there wasn’t. I believe there were witnesses, had to be, in broad daylight, they either fear for their lives or don’t care. Either way, it’s a shame and another tragic loss of life.

Your ignorance amazes me. Almost as much as your english. This is why other races call us ignorant and have no respect for us. Please learn how to spell and talk.

This is an awful tragidy, I am so sorry for this woman, and so thankful none of the small, young children were injured physically, but they must be torn up mentally watching their Grandmother die. Somebody saw something, come forward, at what point do you draw the line? If this story doesn’t effect a witness, nothing ever will, which means things are hopeless.

Its sad. Most of the time the people doing the shooting are from other neighborhoods. They bring the violence in… prime example: Walnut Park. There are some very nice, caring people in that neighborhood. Thugs and gangbangers come in and have their little shoot em ups with no care for people caught in the crosshair.

NO NO NO. that’s not the answer. The way to curb the violence is to correct the culture within the black community.
