ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Police say five young men have been injured in a St. Louis shooting.

The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon in the northern part of the city.

Police say the victims range from 15 to 27 years old.

A 15-year-old boy was shot multiple times in the back and taken to an area hospital. He is in critical but stable condition. Others were shot in areas such as the side, foot, hand and leg.

Lt. James Prost tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that all five are expected to live. He says they haven’t been cooperating with officers trying to determine what happened.

Police haven’t released the names of the victims or a motive in the shooting. No arrests have been reported.

Hot spot policing? This is never go to end until the city is about vacant, every single day a murder or two, and then the mandatory meeting that the violence must end, but it goes on. The Mayor, Police Department and elected officials better stop trying to fudge the statistics and say the city is less violent than in the past, because it is not. Population is down, they leave that out (over 6000 vacant homes in North St. Louis). In addition, they say they don’t take in the county statistics, true, but there isn’t a large problem in most the county. Finally remember, East St. Louis is closer than most counties, and these figures are left out of the greater metropolitan area. Put that in the equation, and you have one big mess that is moving the wrong way
