PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KTVI) Pitcher Dan Jennings of the Miami Marlins has been diagnosed with a concussion after being struck in the head by a line drive  Thursday night.

In the seventh inning of the Marlins game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Jennings was hit by a line drive off the bat of Jordy Mercer. Jennings quickly got to his feet, but was clearly dazed and could not walk off the field. As he was carted off by the Pirates ground crew, Jennings gave a salute to the cheering fans.

A CT scan on Jennings came back negative, meaning no other injuries were suffered. He was kept at a hospital overnight for observation.
