Demonstrators will be allowed to protest Monday morning

(KTVI)- Nearly 20 stores have been damaged during overnight looting near Ferguson.  One business targeted was Beauty Town in  the 9100 block of West Florissant Avenue. Thieves reportedly stole items to include, hair extension and wigs. There are also reports of electronics and other items being taken from various stores in the area.

These events are following a peaceful rally held for shooting victim Michael Brown.

Jennings School District has also cancelled its first day of school as a safety precaution.

The 10:00 a.m. protest that was scheduled at the Ferguson Police Department has been cancelled. Peaceful and silent demonstrators will be allowed to rally.

Michael Brown's family has hired Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump who handled the case of Trayvon Martin. The family press conference will be held at 4:00 p.m. where Reverend Al Sharpton will be in attendance.

In response to the shooting, the NAACP will host a mass public meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Murchison Tabernacle Church at 7629 Natural Bridge.
