I heard the interview. His motive is in my opinion, is to get more funding for his non-profit so his salary will increase. Check out what he makes its public record. I’d post it but Fox 2 don’t let links stay.

Aren’t we all getting tired of people like this guy playing the we’re poor and need more money card? It’s always the same old song — we don’t have good jobs — we don’t get enough money — we don’t have good educations. We have spent TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of dollars on these programs. BUT the one thing we can’t do is MAKE these people use the resources for good educations and values we have set out for them! We can’t make you a lawyer or a surgeon — you have to make YOURSELF one!
