The Cardinals built a quick 2-0 first inning lead on Friday night in Yadier Molina’s return game, but the Cubs spoiled the party with a four home run power show. Chicago wins at Busch Stadium 7-2. Run scoring singles by Matt Holliday and Jhonny Peralta gave the Redbirds a 2-0 lead. The Cubs pecked away at that lead and tied the game on solo homers by Luis Valbuena and Jorge Soler. A four run seventh inning highlighted by a second Soler home run sealed the Cards doom.

Pat Neshek took the loss in relief, allowing four run in only two-thirds of an inning pitched. Yadier Molina was 0 for 3 in his return.
