ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Two people were injured in a car vs. motorcycle crash around 11:10pm Thursday night near the intersection of Washington and north Broadway downtown.

Police say a 25-year old man and a 26-year old woman were a speeding motorcycle traveling south on Broadway when it crashed into the driver side of a white sedan traveling east on Washington. Both were thrown from the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver is listed in  critical and unstable condition and the passenger is listed in serious but stable condition. The driver of the car, a 48-year old man, refused treatment.

The intersection was shut down for sometime as an accident reconstruction team investigated the crash scene. The exact cause of the crash has not been released.

At this point it’s unclear if the people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets, which is required by law in Missouri.
