(KTVI)- Before the sun came up on Labor Day, many people started grieving the end of summer. But, holistic therapist Dr. Erin Shannon said you can beat the cold-weather blues while it is still warm.

She suggested that people get outside as much as they can. She also suggested positive-thinking techniques like looking forward to wearing sweaters and fall breezes. Dr. Shannon said just 40 minutes in the sun, with your sleeves up can increase Vitamin D levels and pick up your mood. She also recommended getting a lamp that mimics sunlight and using it regularly in the fall to ward off the winter blues.
