Speeding teen driver dies after rolling Corvette crash

HIGHLAND, IL (KTVI) – One teen is dead and another is injured after a Madison County car crash.  Madison County police believe that the teens were speeding when they rolled a Corvette into a field.

Police found a 1994 Chevrolet in a field near Michael Road near Iberg Road, in rural Highland, Illinois at 7:30 Friday.  The car rolled at least once before coming to a stop.

The 16-year-old driver was taken to St. Louis for treatment.  She was listed in serious condition at the scene of the accident.  She later died from injuries in the crash at the hospital.  The passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the scene by Highland EMS.
