“Purlie” kicks off the new season at the Black Rep

(KTVI) - The play "Purlie" won a Tony award in 1970. But, it is the first choice for theatre lovers this season at the Black Repertory Theatre.
The lead character, Purlie Victorious Judson, is a preacher who comes home to help African Americans supressed by a bigot known as Ol' Cap'n Cotchipee.
