(KTVI)- The glow was gorgeous, but the big event is Saturday. The 2014 Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race is in its 42nd year, making it is the oldest free hot-air balloon event in the world.

Events kick-off at Noon surrounding Central Field in Forest Park, with the race starting at 4:30pm. Should rain cancel the race, Sunday is the race-day alternative.

All the glowing balloons Friday night made for very pretty pictures. And many Great Forest Park Balloon Glow attendees wanted to share photos they took on social media. To make that easier, AT&T installed two temporary cell towers, called Cell on Wheels or COWs. That’s to accommodate all the expected demands from smartphone users on its network.

At the Glow Friday night, AT&T customers alone used more than 50 Gigabytes of data.  That’s equivalent to more than 142,000 social media posts with photos.

The additional cell towers will still be in place for the Balloon Race on Saturday.
