ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis Cardinals fans are celebrating a franchise milestone.  Their team is in the playoffs for the 4th straight season.  They are still in a competition with the Pittsburgh Pirates for the title of National League Division champion.

Sunday night was the Cardinals final home game of the season.  The team will finish the season with a home attendance mark of more than 3.5 million.

Playoff tickets are already on sale but some fans are waiting to see whether the Cardinals are the division champions or a wild card team.  As of Sunday night, seats were available for all potential 1st round playoff games.

Some fans credit the Cardinals minor league system for all the success at the top.

"They know how to run an entire organization," said one fan.

Another fan predicted a tough fight in the playoffs.

"I think it's going to be a rough road," said one fan from Springfield, Mo.  "But I never give up because the Cardinals never give up."

After Sunday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds, the Cardinals will have 6 games remaining.  Three games in Chicago against the Cubs and then 3 games in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
