Cardinals tie NLCS in St. Louis, beat Giants 5-4

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A roller coaster ride of a game ended with the Cardinals beating the Giants 5-4.  St. Louis played San Fransisco in game two of the National League Central Division Series Sunday night. St. Louis ties the series after a loss on Saturday night.

The Cards started the game with a lead.  Matt Carpenter's home run in the 3rd inning was followed by Adams scoring in the 4th inning.  Rookie Randal Grichuk's single put the home town team up 2-0.

The Giants fired back.  Pinch hitter Joaquin Arias grounds out on a busted bat scoring Belt from third.  Then, back to back hits by Sandoval and Pence tie the game 2-2 in the 6th.  The Giants took the lead with a RBI single by Gregor Blanco.

The Cardinals roared back.  Oscar Taveras tied the game  for the Cardinals in the 7th.  His homer into the right field stands to tied the game 3-3.  Matt Adams cracks his bat to take St. Louis to a 4-3 lead in the 8th.

A wild pitch gave Matt Duffy a chance to score from 2nd base in the 9th inning.  The Giants tied 4-4

Then Kolten Wong's walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th won the game for the Cards.

Yadier Molina left the game with an injury. He is suffering from strained left oblique.

Game 3 of the NLCS will be Tuesday in San Francisco.  Game time is 3:07pm.
