ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – An interfaith prayer service at the Chaifetz arena Sunday drew an audience one official estimated at approximately 3,000 people.

Religious leaders from a number of faiths took turns praising demonstrators for their actions and calling for continued actions.  Civil rights activist Cornell West was among the speakers.

One area pastor said many disenfranchised youth are tired of losing loved ones.

"They are tired of lost opportunities and tired of lost hope," said Rev. Renita Lamkin, St. John AME Church in St. Charles.   "They are sick of poor schools and bad policing policies and economic oppression.  They are sick, and the whole damn system is guilty as hell."

As a number of people left the service, some said it was interrupted by several of the younger protestors who have been out in Ferguson on a nightly basis.   Some of them wanted to be heard and were invited to come on stage and speak.

Several of the clergy members say they plan on joining protestors for an act of civil disobedience Monday morning.
