KEENES, IL (KTVI) - When it comes to cash crops, pumpkins are king in Illinois. The country's largest producer of fresh market pumpkins is a company called Frey Farms based in Keenes, IL, near Mount Vernon. Frey Farms grow tens of thousands of pumpkins on farms in seven states, though the soil and topography in southern Illinois are considered the best. The company has grown every year, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of its owner, Sarah Frey-Talley.  In this special Contact 2 report, FOX 2's Elliot Weiler takes us inside Frey Farms during the busiest time of the year, and introduces us to its owner and reveals her newest venture.
