SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI) – The Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen met Tuesday night, approving a vote of no confidence in the city’s mayor.

Mark Furrer was charged earlier this month with assault and property damage after a high-profile run in with a cyclist over the summer.

But city lawmakers said that incident is not behind their displeasure with the mayor. Furrer was elected in April.

The alderman asked Furrer to step down tonight, he declined. The board also approved the hiring of a lawyer to write-up a procedure for impeachment.
