Woman attacked while jogging in U City

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (KTVI) – A woman is attacked on a University City street and you won’t believe how she escaped.

That attack happened at 6 am Monday morning and word quickly spread about the incident.

According to University City police a woman was jogging in the 7200 block of Forsyth when a man grabbed her from behind and put his hand over her mouth. The victim then bit the suspects hand he and he took off on foot. Neighbors say they got an alert from Next Door, a private social media app used to share information on criminal activity.

Police also say the suspect fled east on Forsyth after the attack. The victim was not injured and expected to be okay. Right now there are 43-thousand neighborhoods using the Next Door app across the country.

In response, police say they have increased patrols in the area.
