Baseball fans in mid-Missouri have mixed emotions

COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI) - Royals fans are still basking in the glow of their first American League pennant since  1985. Those in the middle of the state are split on how to feel tonight.

In Columbia Missouri they show both the Royals and the Cardinals games in sports bars. This is the halfway point between St. Louis and Kansas City. Columbia Missouri is roughly 125 miles from Kansas City.   It`s also roughly 125 miles from St. Louis.

While Cardinals fans rooted for the Redbirds at Ballpark Village, Royals fans celebrated with their team.  Players sprayed fans with champagne, after clinching the American League Championship Series.   It was an all night party for Kansas City.

Royals fans feel it`s their turn to shine.  So, when Royals and Cardinals fans collide in the middle of the state things get interesting.

Some say the Royals recent success has brought Kansas City fans out of hibernation.  October has typically been a season for Cardinals.

Game one of the World Series will be in Kansas City on Tuesday.
