Group pushing for a high speed rail stop in East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KTVI) -  Metro East, public officials and clergy rallied Saturday to support a high speed rail stop in East St. Louis.

Work is underway on high speed rail service between Alton and Chicago. IDOT is in the middle of an environmental impact study to determine when and if there should be a stop between Alton and St. Louis.

On Saturday the group delivered small trains to state senator James Clayborne and other high speed rail supporters. They also plan to mail trains to other lawmakers  expressing their support for a stop in East St. Louis.
